Another year is flying by; this must mean we are getting older. Summer is over and the kids are back in school and Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before we know it. So far 2017 has been a strong year for WTI Transport and from all indicators it should continue to be great for us. Freight levels for WTI are very high at this time and should remain that way throughout the rest of the year.

2017 Daseke Employee Stock Awards Program

The 2017 Daseke Employee  Stock Award Program was rolled out  on Monday May 22th. This program will provide company drivers, after working a full quarter, a Stock Grant worth $4,000 in Stock Units with stock ownership subject to a vesting schedule of 20% annually. This Grant Award is above and beyond a drivers normal compensation and is a great way to own part of the Daseke company.

WTI Takes First Place in ATA Annual Safety Awards

In October Jem Blair, VP Safety announced WTI Transport had won the First Place Safety Award in the Flatbed Division with the American Trucking Association. WTI and Stay Metrics, out of South Bend Indiana, have come together to introduce the “WTI Rewards Program” starting April 14, 2014.

The WTI Rewards Program is designed to recognize and reward drivers for their service, professionalism, safe driving, Hours of Service and company training.  This program was designed for Company Drivers, Lease Purchase and Owner Operators. The entire program is managed online, through a driver’s personalized WTI Rewards Program website. WTI Takes 3rd Place at the Alabama Trucking Association Safety Awards

The Alabama Trucking Association Safety & Maintenance Management Council’s Annual Fleet Safety Awards took place March 24, 2014. WTI earned the 3rd Place Safety Award in General Commodities Linehaul Division. These annual awards recognized companies and drivers who upheld the highest safety standards in the state for the previous calendar year. Companies with the best safety records in 14 different classes were awarded the Fleet Safety Awards. Safety records were determined by calculating the number of accidents per million miles driven within the state (Source information taken from ATA website).

Taking no chances with flatbed coil securement

What kind of truck accident has seriously damaged interstate highway around downtown Birmingham, Ala., about 30 times since 1987? Flatbeds dropping steel loads, usually coils, whether by rollover, jackknife, securement failure or other problem.
